Mission, brief description, and history.
India@75 is a grassroots initiative for realizing the dream
of an inclusive, sustainable and developed India by the year 2022, i.e., when
India completes 75 years of Independence. It is a universal vision for India
shared by Indians from all geographies and all walks of life. It was developed
using collaborative public reasoning processes that involved thousands of
Indians from all sections of the society.
India@75 was born after a speech (http://tinyurl.com/7ug8q45) that was delivered by Prof
C.K. Pralhad, Paul and Ruth McCracken Distinguished University Professor of
Corporate Strategy of the University of Michigan, when he was invited by the
Government of India and Confederation of Indian Industry to talk about
India@60.
Following the speech, a grassroots driven participatory
approach to visioning was kicked off. The motivation behind this exercise was
to get on board views of diverse people living in diverse communities in India.
The India@75: People’s Agenda Document (http://tinyurl.com/7m9obad) is a result of this exercise.
